Shimon Malevsky ( Polish: Szymon Malewski ; 1759 - 1832 , Vilna) - jurist, economist, physiocrat ; Rector of the Imperial University of Vilna ; father of privy adviser F.S. Malevsky .

Biography
In 1781 he entered the teacher’s seminary at the Main School of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania ; He studied at the Cracow Jagiellonian University for two years. In 1785 he received a Ph.D. at the Lithuanian Main School and became a mathematics teacher in Vilna. Since 1787, Professor of Law and Political Economy of the Main Lithuanian School [1] .
He was a supporter of King Stanislav Augustus . In 1794 he received the rank of court adviser. During the uprising led by Tadeusz Kosciuszko was the authorized central deputation of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania.
Doctor of Civil Law since 1800. In 1803-1809 he taught political economics at Vilnius University; since 1816 - professor. In 1817-1822 he was rector of Vilnius University. Indirectly supported the activities of the student society of philomats , in which his son Frantisek Jerome (Franz Semenovich) Malevsky participated.
He died in Vilna, buried in Turgeli (Turgaliai), the village of Shalchininka district .
