Content
History
The settlement was founded at the beginning of the XVIII century [2] .
In 1938, the village received the status of an urban-type settlement.
During World War II from August 1941 to December 1943, the settlement was occupied by German troops .
In 1978, the Chernolessky forest farm with a school of foresters, an inter-collective farm feed mill, a household center, a House of Culture , two secondary schools, a library and a medical ambulance station operated here. In addition, a sanatorium was located near the village [2] .
In January 1989, the population size was6266 people [3] .
As of January 1, 2013, the population was 5142 people [4] .
Transportation
In the village there is a railway junction (7 km west of the nodal railway station Znamenka ) [2] .
Through the village passes the highway.
