About the album
The success of No Angel was inspired by American rapper Eminem , who sampled the track “ Thank You ” Dido on his single “ Stan ” from The Marshall Mathers LP 's 2000 album. His album The Marshall Mathers LP was a huge success and reached first place both in the USA and Canada, and Dido herself appeared as a lover and suffering girlfriend in the video for the song “Stan”, which was released as the third single from this album. And while in the US the song was only # 51 on the Billboard Hot 100 , in the UK and Australia it became # 1 and was an international hit. The song "Stan" was nominated for a Grammy Award (Dido herself did not sing this song with Eminem at the ceremony, the part of the girl was performed by Sir Elton John ).
No Angel was one of the top bestsellers of 2001 albums worldwide, best selling album of the year 2001 in the UK and 2nd in Australia (over 420,000). He was also at the end of the year No. 3 in the United States and No. 5 in Canada.
