Geography and History

In 2015-2017, the line of demarcation of forces in the Donbass ^[1] ^[2] (see the Second Minsk Agreement ) ^[3] passed through the village. The western outskirts of the village remained under the control of government forces of Ukraine, and the eastern, most - under the control of the Donetsk People's Republic ^[4] . At the same time, the part of the village controlled by the DPR was declared a “buffer zone” ^[5] .

In November 2017, the Armed Forces took control of the entire settlement ^[6] ^[7] .
