Olga Kern was born into a family of musicians, her grandfather was an internationally known oboe professor, and great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother (pianists) were friendly and collaborated with the great Russian composers S. V. Rakhmaninov and P. I. Tchaikovsky ; Olga's parents are pianists.
