Interesting Facts

Rabbi Yitzhak from Volozhin was extremely pedantic in matters of speech purity, carefully monitored himself not to say a bad word about anyone. And then one day he was forced to call one person a liar. Protecting himself from uttering an “unclean” word, the rabbi said:

“This man has an amazing memory. There are people who can recall the events of a decade ago; there are owners of such a wonderful memory that they can easily reproduce what happened twenty or even fifty years ago. But this man has a truly amazing memory: he remembers that which never happened! ” [1]
