Igor Kesaev was born on October 30, 1966 in Ordzhonikidze (currently Vladikavkaz) in the North Ossetian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic [1] [2] [3] .
He served in the army [1] .
From 1988 to 1992 - head of the banking insurance department of the Absolute-Moscow insurance company, director of the Absolute-Moscow insurance company, general director of the Jupiter insurance company [1] [10] .
Later, he became chairman of the board of directors of Mosexim Bank, whose founders included Apollo-Mos Trading and Financial Company CJSC, whose general director was Igor Kesaev at one time [10] . In December 1999, a license was taken away from Moseximbank [10] .
In 1991 he created the trading company "Mercury" [2] .
Since 1992, the owner and president of the Mercury Group of Companies [1] [3] [10] .
In 1993 he graduated from the Moscow State Institute of International Relations [1] [2] .

In December 2007, Mercury Group owned by Igor Kesaev acquired from Oleg Leonov 51% of Dixy , according to experts, for 600 million US dollars [2] [13] .
In 2009, Gazprom Neft sold its stake to Sibir Energy [2] .
In mid-July 2010, Russian lawyer Alexander Dobrovinsky filed a complaint with the Helsinki Commission of the US Congress, which, according to him, was the unlawful seizure of KiN by initiating a criminal case against Aren Yeganyan.
