Navodіdnichi ( Nevodnichi ; Navoodnichesky ravine ) ( ukr. Naviodnychі, Nevodіdnіchі, Navodnits'ka balka ) - the historical area of Kiev , the tract. Stretches along Staronavodnitskaya Street and the final part of the boulevard of Friendship of Peoples and to the Dnieper , covering the area of Heroes of the Great Patriotic War , which in the past had the name Navodnitskaya .
The name comes from the pontoon (flood) crossing of the Dnieper, which existed in the area of the modern bridge named after Paton since the times of Kievan Rus , and possibly earlier. In our time, most of the area is built up - the even side of Staronavodnitskaya Street is built up with high-rise buildings, the odd one - low-rise private houses.
Nearby there is Novonavodnitsky lane , and the name Novonavodnitskaya had the lower part of modern Lavra street .
