( Eng. World Contraception Day (WCD) ) - an international day that is celebrated throughout the world every year, September 26 since 2007 [1] .

This event is held under the motto : " Contraception: It's Your Life, it's your responsibility ", which in Russian means the following: " Contraception: this is your life, this is your responsibility ."
The initiators of World Contraception Day are ten international organizations that are somehow related to family planning problems:

- International Planned Parenthood Federation (IPPF ) *
- Marie Stopes International (MSI ) *
- Pan American Health and Education Foundation (PAHEF) *

The organizations that initiated World Contraception Day are committed to the principle that every pregnancy should be desired. They see their mission in maximizing the awareness of the population about contraceptive methods and methods and giving young people the opportunity to make informed decisions on sexual and reproductive health issues, to avoid unplanned pregnancies so that girls (especially minors) do not have to resort to abortion .
This day, according to the organizers, should draw the attention of the authorities and the public to the problems that arise as a result of insufficient sex education and neglect of contraception.
