Located on the southwestern edge of the city of Zheleznovodsk . It is a rocky ledge of the Beshtownites 500 × 150 m in size, towering 120 meters above the foot. The name is associated with the yellow color of the rocks, dotted with holes resembling a honeycomb. Disturbed by a quarry in which beshtownite was mined for construction purposes in the 20th century.
The lower part of the slopes is covered with deciduous forest, which is part of the Beshtaugorsky forest .
On Medova is the site of ancient human settlements of the Byzantine era.
Mount Honey is one of the attractions of Zheleznovodsk, often visited by locals and vacationers.
It is a regional complex (landscape) natural monument (Resolution of the Bureau of the Stavropol Regional Committee of the CPSU and the Executive Committee of the Regional Council of Workers' Deputies dated September 15, 1961 No. 676 "On measures to protect nature in the region").
