The first issue was published in 1999. In 2000 it was not published. Since 2001, it has been published regularly in a revised concept. The motto is “A magazine for all who are interested in the East .” He publishes cultural, historical and religious articles and essays, archival documents, traveler essays, reviews of Internet resources, presents museum collections, book collections and individual publications, including those from the RSL funds.

Geography of publications: Russia , countries of Asia and North Africa .

Permanent sections: Impression, Writing, Country of the East, Orientnet. Summary in English .

Since 2011, the magazine "Oriental Collection" has been operating at the magazine. At club meetings, the authors of the magazine "Eastern Collection" talk about their research, travels, discoveries in the East. Presenters - Deputy General Director of the RSL, Doctor of Philosophy, Professor E. V. Nikonorova and Editor-in-Chief of the Journal A. A. Poleshchuk [1] .

The magazine stopped publishing in January 2016 [2] .
