Demographics
According to the 2000 census [1] , 1791 people, 445 families lived in Kensett , there were 699 households and 778 residential buildings. The average population density was about 389 people per square kilometer. The racial composition of Kensett according to the census was as follows: 70.24% were white , 24.29% were black or African-American , 0.17% were Native Americans , 0.37% were Asians , 2.57% were mixed races, 2 , 40% - of other nationalities. Hispanics accounted for 4.02% of all city residents.
Of 699 households, 29.6% brought up children under the age of 18, 41.1% were cohabiting couples, in 17.9% of families women lived without husbands, 36.2% did not have families. 32.3% of the total number of families at the time of the census lived independently, while 14.3% were single elderly people aged 65 years and older. The average household size was 2.42 and the average family size was 3.06.
