The Janis Akurater Museum (transliteration is also found The Yanis Akuraters Museum ; Latvian. Jāņa Akuratera muzejs ) is a memorial house-museum, the exposition of which is devoted to the life and work of the Latvian writer Janis Akuterra .

About the Museum
The museum was opened in 1991 and was a branch of the Museum of the History of Literature and Art. Since 2009, part of the Association of Memorial Museums of Latvia.
Located in the own wooden house of the family of Janis Akurater, designed by the architect Werner Vitand in 1933 in Tornakalns , on the left bank of the Daugava .
The museum exposition is located in five rooms on two floors of the house [1] .
- Fireplace Hall. The fireplace is made according to a sketch by Nicholas Strunk, furniture in the Biedermeier style of the first half of the XIX century.
- Canteen. In the center of the room is a large dining table, custom-made in 1924.
- Cabinet Writer's desk and library with books in Latvian, German, Russian, French and Norwegian.
- Bright interior. Lounge furnished with Louis XVI style furniture.
- The room of Anna Maria, the writer's wife. The interior corresponds to the general trends of 1920-1930.
The museum has a collection of paintings - sketches of the Italian cities of Nicholas Strunk, city sketches of Olgert Saldavsa, Latgalian landscapes of Oscar Kaleis, a parade portrait of the poet George Schoenberg, a portrait of Laima Acurater of Valdemar Tone and a number of works by other authors.
The museum focuses on working with students and schoolchildren. A variety of themed exhibitions and poetry evenings are held within its walls. Across the road is the memorial house-museum of the poet Oyar Vacietis , which allows for the joint implementation of certain cultural projects, such as the now-traditional “ Museum Night ”.
