Amanita novinupta is a mushroom of the family Amanita ( Amanitaceae ). Included in the subgenus Lepidella of the genus Amanita . Previously not distinguished from the species Amanita rubescens .

Biological description
- The hat is 5-14 cm in diameter, convex in shape, becomes almost flat with age. The surface of the cap is smooth, pale, then pinkish, covered with white or pinkish flaky remains of the bedspread.
- The pulp is dense, white in color, it turns pink very slowly in the air, without any particular taste or smell.
- Plate-shaped hymenophore , plates adhered to the pedicle, often located, milky white or yellowish.
- The peduncle is 6β12 cm long and 1.5β3.5 cm thick, sometimes hollow, even, or with a bulbous thickening at the base, with a dry white surface, covered with pinkish scales in the lower part. The ring is membrane-shaped, white, brittle.
- Spore powder is white. Spores 7-8.5 Γ 5.5-6 microns, elliptical, amyloid .
- Edible .
Ecology and habitat
It occurs singly or in small groups, under Quercus agrifolia and other oaks . Known from western North America .
Similar views
- Amanita rubescens is distinguished by a darker color and larger sizes.
