Superactinoids

Superactinoids ( superactinids , English superactinide ) are hypothetically possible chemical elements with atomic numbers 121 ( Unbiunium ) - 168 (Ungexoctium), in which 5 g is completely filled. The group of superactinoids follows super-heavy transactinoid elements and is located below the group of lanthanides and actinides in the extended periodic table of elements . The theoretical assumption about the existence of such elements was mentioned by G. T. Seaborg . Theories of the Island of Stability, and so on. The magic cores of the shell structure allow a long-lived and stable existence of superactinoids, including in nature.

Attempts to synthesize superactinoids

  • Presumably, the first proof of the existence of such elements was obtained by a group of scientists from the Hebrew University . One of the leaders of the group, Amnon Marinov , obtained the nucleus of an ekatoria unbibiya with an atomic mass of 292 and an atomic number of 122 [1] . However, this statement is currently disputed on the basis of recent attempts to reproduce data using more accurate methods.
  • Also in 2011, Russian scientists reported the discovery of traces of collisions with particles with atomic numbers up to 130 in a meteoritic substance, which may be indirect evidence of the existence of stable superheavy nuclei, including superactinoids [2] .
  • During attempts at artificial nuclear fusion of superactinoids, there were applications for obtaining an element of unbiquadium (124) and indirect evidence of an element of unbexy (126), which have not yet been confirmed. Attempts to synthesize superactinoids continue.
