Sports career

From the age of 17 she trained under the guidance of Nikolai Beloborodov [6] [7] .

2005-2006

A breakthrough in the international elite was a success for Lysenko in the summer of 2005 . On July 15, she broke by 99 cm in Moscow the six-year-old world record belonging to Romanian Michael Melint , throwing a hammer at 77.06 m. A month and a half later, she won a bronze medal at the 2005 World Championships in Helsinki . On June 24, 2006, Tatyana Lysenko set a new world record in Zhukovsky , reaching 77.41 meters. At the 2006 European Championships, she won gold with a score of 76.67 meters, setting a championship record. On August 15 of the same year in Tallinn, she broke her own record, throwing a hammer at 77.80 m.

Disqualification 2007-2009

She again improved the world record on May 26, 2007 in Sochi with the result of 78.61 meters, however she was caught doping and this record was canceled [8] . The athlete was disqualified for two years, until May 9, 2009, and therefore could not speak at the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

2009 Season: Return to Sport After Disqualification

The first start after two years of disqualification was for the athlete the Russian championship, which she won with the third result of the season in the world (76.41 m). The result shown by the athlete was only one meter behind the world record set by herself a few years ago [9] .

At the World Championships in Berlin, Tatyana threw a hammer only 72.22 meters, which allowed her to take 6th place, although she was 2nd in qualification.

2010—2011

In 2010, Tatyana, after winning the Russian Championship and Cup, was included in the national team for the 2010 European Championship . Tatyana went to the European Championship with the rank of the reigning champion, but Gothenburg could not repeat the success, becoming 75th with a score of 75.65 meters and losing the title to German Betty Heidler [10] .

But at the World Championships in Daegu on September 4, 2011, Lysenko took revenge from Betty Heidler. The Russian woman in her first 3 attempts (76.80, 77.09 and 77.13 meters) announced her claim to the world champion title - the first in her career. And the third attempt at 77 meters 13 centimeters was victorious [11] .

2012

July 5 in Cheboksary became the champion of Russia with a national record - 78.51.

At the 2012 Olympics in London, she set an Olympic record in her first attempt - 77.56. In the fifth attempt, she improved to 78.18 and became the Olympic champion. On October 11, 2016, due to a positive doping test, the IOC was deprived of a gold Olympic medal [1] .

2013

At the World Championships in Moscow, she won with a new record for Russia and the World Championships - 78.80 m [12] .

In 2014, she married her coach Nikolai Beloborodov [13] [14] . In 2015, she gave birth to a son, whom she named Macarius [15] [16] .
