Borшаa ( rum. Borșa , Hungarian Borsa , German Borscha , Yiddish בורשא ) is a city in the Romanian Maramures County (which is part of the historical Maramures ).

The population of the city is 27,247 inhabitants ( 2002 ), the area is 424.12 km². Near Borshi there are many protected areas. The first mention of the city dates back to 1365 [2] .
Borsa is located in a mountainous area, in the valley of the river Viseu , thanks to which tourism is actively developing in the city, especially in the winter period. Also in the city is the Rodna National Park (area - 463 km ²).
In the vicinity of the city there are iron and copper mines and mineral springs [3] .
In 1717, the Tatar army was defeated here, returning after the raid, and the mass of prisoners was freed and rich trophies were taken [3] .
In 1718 the first wooden church was built here.
