History
Formed on June 28, 1809 as the Training Grenadier Battalion
note from 1885 the seniority of the unit began to be considered from July 28, 1809
from the moment of formation and up to 1856 the assignment of the unit was the training of non-commissioned officers, rockers and flaischik for the foot units of the army, the battalion was part of the training forces

August 13, 1811 granted 2 simple banners
August 21, 1814 in the battalion left 1 banner
by order of March 16, 1816, together with the 1st and 3rd training grenadier battalions, by March 25, 1816, the Carabiner Training Regiment (from October 22, 1826, the 1st Carabiner Training Regiment)

On November 23, 1856, the battalion was separated from the regiment, transferred from the training troops to the operating forces and added to the 7th infantry division as a rifle battalion.
Notes. 23 November 1856 The 1st Carabiner Regiment reorganized:
- 1st and 2nd battalions are divided into the formation of separate infantry battalions in the 8th and 7th infantry divisions
- and from the 3rd battalion (formed February 25, 1834) with the 4th unbalanced battalion (formed January 29, 1847) and the 5th battalion of cantonists (formed August 7, 1847) formed the 1st Training Infantry Regiment of the 3rd battalion composition, This regiment was in 1857 consolidated into the 1st Training Infantry Battalion , in June 1860 it was reorganized into the 1st Reserve Infantry Battalion and was divided on August 6, 1864 into the formation of reserve battalions (abolished in 1873)
March 18, 1857 named the 7th Infantry Battalion, continuing to remain in the 7th Infantry Division
August 31, 1870 transferred to the then formed 2nd Infantry Brigade , while retaining its number

On July 28, 1909, in honor of the centenary, a commemorative simple banner with Alexander's ribbon β1809-1909β was granted
July 30, 1911 the regiment was granted breastplates for officers and the head for the lower ranks with the inscription "For distinction in the war with Japan in 1904 and 1905"
