Yulia Nikolaevna Koltunova (born May 4, 1989 in Volgograd ) is a Russian athlete - a diving athlete. Silver medalist of the 2004 Olympic Games. Member of the Russian national team since 2002.

Sports career
Paired with Natalia Goncharova , silver medalist at the 2004 Olympic Games in synchronized jumping from the tower with a total of 340.92 points.
At the 2006 European Championships in Budapest, together with Natalia Goncharova, she won a silver medal, losing to the German duo Gamm / Subshinsky.
At the 2009 World Cup in Rome, they performed unsuccessfully, taking the final 11th place [1] .
At the 2010 European Championships in Budapest in the newly introduced discipline, team diving, together with Ilya Zakharov took second place. The Russian duet lost only 1.8 points to the winners Germans Kristina Stoyer and Sasha Klein [2] . In the jumps from the 10-meter tower, Julia became the third. In the final, Koltunova competed with her Ukrainian namesake Yulia Prokopchuk and German Kristina Stoyer. After five jumps, the Russian woman was in the lead, but, performing a high-difficulty jump, she lost control of the entrance and received strict judges' scores, sending her to the final third place [3] . In synchronized jumping from the tower, Julia and her partner could not get into the number of winners, taking 5th place.
At the European Championships in Turin, Yulia Koltunova, together with Daria Govor, became winners in synchronized diving from a 10-meter tower. The result of Russians is 322.26 points. The Germans Kristina Shtoyer and Nora Subshinsky / 317.76 / won the silver, the Ukrainians Yulia Prokopchuk and Alina Chaplenko / 315.24 / [4] won the bronze.
At the 2012 Olympics, she qualified for the final with the 7th result on the 10-meter tower, so she evaluated her performance: “I didn’t get the second jump, but in general everything went well, there were no breakdowns, I didn’t fall. I would rate my performance as mediocre, but normal for this stage. The coach before the Olympics said that I should perform as best I can. "In the semifinal on August 8, Yulia Koltunova was only sixth with a score of 351.90. In the final on August 9, the jumper from Russia became fifth (357.90), skipping ahead of Australian Melissa Wu ( 358.10), Pandelelo Pang from Malaysia (359.20), Brittany Broben (366.50), but defeating the titled Paola Espinosa (356.20) and his longtime German rival Christina Stoier (351.35). Champions were won by experienced Chinese woman Cheng Rolin, who performed all her jumps almost perfectly, including the pro-demon stripping 3.5 somersaults forward from the handstand, which allowed her to get a big lead over her pursuers (422.30) [5] .
