46th Separate Operations Brigade

The 46th Zhukov Order is a separate operational brigade - the largest unit of the national guard forces , formerly the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia , formed on November 1, 2000 on the basis of one of the battalions of the 101st special operations brigade to maintain constitutional order in the Chechen Republic and combat illegal armed units. Content

Team Formation

At a collegium of the Ministry of Internal Affairs in February 2000, in accordance with the Decree of the President of Russia , it was decided to create the 46th separate operational brigade for explosives. On the basis of the order of the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation No. 22, a directive of the Commander-in-Chief of the Internal Troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia, as part of the North Caucasus District of Internal Troops on the territory of the Chechen Republic, on an ongoing basis, they began to form a separate operational brigade deployed in the city of Grozny .

The formation of the brigade took place from July to October 2000 on the basis of military units of the North Caucasus, Volga, Moscow, Siberian and Eastern districts of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

Tasks

  1. Serving at checkpoints, platoon strongholds, outposts;
  2. ensuring the passage of military echelons;
  3. escort of columns;
  4. conducting special operations to eliminate illegal armed groups;
  5. policing in settlements and administrative regions of the Czech Republic;
  6. the prevention of terrorist acts against government officials, law enforcement officers, and federal forces;
  7. measures to prevent the theft of petroleum products;
  8. providing cover for the administrative border with the republics of Dagestan , North Ossetia-Alania .

Current status

In 2009, the 34th Special Forces detachment was created on the basis of one of the operational battalions.

At the end of 2009, also on the basis of 231 operational battalions in the village of Naurskaya, the 140th artillery regiment was formed, in early 2010 its combat coordination was completed and put into operation.

During the period of performance of service and combat missions, more than 600 military personnel of the brigade were awarded state awards.

On December 28, 2009, a ceremony was held to present the Battle Banner of the new model to the 46th separate operational brigade of the internal troops of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia.

In March 2012, the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation, Army General R. G. Nurgaliev handed the brigade the Order of Zhukov [1] .
