Distribution and Ecology

In nature , the species range covers Eastern Siberia , the Russian Far East , Mongolia and China [2] .

It grows on rocky slopes, gravel, and on dry open slopes.

Botanical Description

A semi-shrub liana with erect stems 20–40 cm high, in culture up to 2 m, less often with higher and climbing ones.

Leaves are double- or thriceous, vary greatly in degree of dissection and the width of the final lobes, the primary lobes are less long petiolate, divided into ternary segments of different widths (from linear to rhombic), broad-wedge-shaped, notched, serrate and more densely pubescent below.

Flowers in axillary panicles , drooping, with leaf-shaped bracts , bell-shaped, 1.5–2 cm long, whitish or cream. Sepals , including 4, narrowly oblong, shortly pointed, with apex completely or slightly bent outward, densely white pubescent on the outside.

Achenes are pubescent, flattened, with a long, feathery pubescent nose up to 3 cm long.

Flowering in July - August. Fruiting in August - September.
