Biography

The father is a journalist, he died in 1909 (there is a version that he committed suicide).

Niels' school years were spent at Filipstad, and after graduating from school he entered the Stockholm drama school. I wandered around the country, worked as an assistant blacksmith, a loader, farmhand, electrician, sailed sailor on merchant ships. I tried myself on theatrical scenes of Sweden and Finland. He wrote couplets for pop, sketches, radio plays, songs. From 1930 to 1957 six collections of his poems were published, the seventh was published a year after his death.

Melancholic and, at the same time, the verses of Ferlin, touched by humor, were and continue to be very popular in Sweden, many of them set to music (see: [1] ).

In 1991, the publishing house "Boniere" released a complete collection of poems by Ferlin.
