Biography

Born in the family of the modern pentathlon trainer, Honored Coach of the USSR Anatoly Pevtsov and sports doctor of the USSR national table tennis team , candidate of medical sciences, first president of the Federation of Medical Riding and Disabled Sports of Russia (hippotherapy) Robert Noemi Semyonovna (born 1928) [3] . As a child, Dmitry did a lot of sports ( karate and judo ). After graduation, he worked as a milling machine operator at a factory.

In 1980, unexpectedly for himself, he decided to enter GITIS [4] .

In 1984, after graduating from GITIS (the course of Irina Sudakova and Lidia Knyazeva ) was accepted into the troupe at the Taganka Theater . Director Anatoly Efros introduced Pevtsov to the play “At the Bottom” by Maxim Gorky in the role of Vaska Ash [5] .

In 1986-1987 he served in the Soviet Army , playing on the stage of the Theater of the Soviet Army [6] . After the army, Dmitry continued to work at the Taganka Theater. One of his first successful theater roles was his work in the play "Fedra" (1988) directed by Roman Viktyuk (theater "A" Alla Demidova ) [5] .

In 1991, the young actor was invited to the troupe of the Moscow Lenkom Theater . In Lenkom, Pevtsov made his debut in the title role in the play Hamlet (staged by Gleb Panfilov ). Subsequently, on the stage of this theater, Dmitry played Trepleva in The Seagull (staged by Mark Zakharov ), Figaro in the play Crazy Day or The Marriage of Figaro, Shpigelsky in the play Two Women, Chichikova in the play Mystification, Petruccio in the play The Taming tamers ”(premiered on January 14, 2002) [5] .

On March 23, 2005, Pevtsov was cast on the main role of Count Rezanov in the rock opera Juno and Avos (in this performance he replaced Nikolai Karachentsov , who could not continue acting after a car accident) [7] . Working in the Lenkom, Pevtsov played performances in four more theaters, not only in Moscow [8] . He took part in the musical "Metro". He played in the performances "The Night is Tender " and "Charlie Cha" of the Moon Theater . He played the main role in the musical "Eastwick Witches" (premiere March 12, 2003 ) [9] [10] .

In the movie, Dmitry Pevtsov made his debut in 1986 . He got the small role of Jim in the last film of Tatyana Lioznova , the detective " End of the World with a subsequent symposium ." This picture was shown on television only once and did not bring fame. But in 1989, the role of Yakov Somov in the film " Mother " by Gleb Panfilov brought the actor an award from the European Film Academy "Felix" in the nomination "For Best Supporting Actor" [4] . Popular recognition came to Pevtsov in 1990 after the role of Savely Govorkov in one of the first Russian tapes of the action category - the film of Alexander Muratov , nicknamed the Beast [4] . In the same year, the artist starred in the sci-fi film “ Witch 's Dungeon ”, where his partners were Marina Levtova , Sergey Zhigunov and Nikolai Karachentsov . In 1999, Dmitry Pevtsov began recording songs with various composers, performing with concert programs as a singing actor [11] . In the same year he took part in the recording of Pavel Smeyan ’s rock opera “The Word and the Deed” [12] , and two years later in the recording of the author’s CD Nikolai Parfenyuk “ Lenkom Actors Sing” [5] . In 2004, he released a solo CD “Moonlight Road”, all the songs for which were written by composer Nikolai Parfenyuk [13] . In 2009, Singers in a duet with singer Zara took second place in the TV show " Two Stars " on " Channel One " [5] . Since 2010, he began to perform with the concert program “There are many singers, there are only one Singers!” Solo or with the street rock band “KarTush” under the direction of Andrey Vertuzaev. In 2011, the Singers and KarTush gave about 60 concerts [14] .

Since 2001, has been taking part in the ring races of the Volkswagen Polo Cup.

In 2002, he led the program " The Last Hero-2 " [5] .

In 2007, Dmitry Pevtsov was awarded the Order of Honor , and in 2013 - the Order of Merit for the Fatherland , IV degree.

In 2012, Dmitry Pevtsov played the main role of Count Monte Cristo in the musical drama “ I am Edmond Dantes ” based on the novel by Alexander Dumas , staged by Yegor Druzhinin in the Moscow Theater in Serpukhovka [15] [16] [17] .

In 2013, Dmitry Pevtsov and his wife Olga Drozdova took an acting course at the Institute of Contemporary Art [8] . Since then, Dmitry has been teaching and is the artistic director at the acting department [18] . In the same year, he led the jury and became the trustee of the Silver Sword International Stage Fencing Festival [5] .

Citizenship

In 2001, he signed a letter in defense of the NTV television channel [19] .

In October 2008, he signed an open letter of appeal in defense and support of the release of the lawyer of the Yukos oil company Svetlana Bakhmina [20] .

In an interview in October 2016, Dmitry Pevtsov announced his unconditional support for current Russian politics and personally for President Vladimir Putin .

“I am deeply convinced: for the first time in 70 years, a professional leader has come who works for this state. And, for a minute, he confesses and takes communion once a week. I know exactly! And that tells me a lot. A truly Orthodox person cannot do evil. Even if engaged in such a slippery business. Leading Russia is extremely difficult. But everywhere, at all the speeches, including in front of students, I say: we live in a country that has already risen from its knees. We became stronger, and they began to fear and hate us ” [21] .

In October 2016, he was included in the list of non grata persons in Latvia and was denied entry.

Personal life

He lived in an actual marriage with actress Larisa Blazhko, a classmate at GITIS. June 5, 1990 they had a son, Daniil Pevtsov [22] . Some time after his birth, Dmitry and Larisa separated.

Daniel died in an accident on September 3, 2012 [23] . Garik Sukachev dedicated the song “Bird” to him [24] .

In 1994, Pevtsov married actress Olga Drozdova (born April 1, 1965) [25] , a romance with which he began on the set of the film “Walk on the Scaffold” (1991). On August 7, 2007, the couple gave birth to a son, Elisha.

 Певцов — один из редчайших сегодня универсальных актёров: умеет всё — от героических ролей до характерных, держит себя в форме, поёт, на гитаре играет, быстро учит роли… Мне кажется, лучше всех его понял Панфилов, дав ему роль Якова Сомова в «Запрещённых людях» — не зря он и «Феликса» за неё получил. У меня есть предчувствие, что он всех нас ещё удивит. Одного только не одобряю — зачем ему эти автогонки? Почему он столько ездит на мотоцикле? Актёры, тем более классные, должны себя беречь! [44]
