Biography and character
Transformers G1
In the distant past, on Cybertron , Silverbolt was a passenger airliner and therefore, even after being reformatted by autobots into a fighter , it is desperately afraid of heights. The poor thing is not even trying to hide his weakness from others. Nevertheless, Optimus Prime appoints Silverbolt as the commander of the newly created Aerobot squad, reasoning that the need to constantly think about others will make him devote less time to his own fears and feelings. The wise leader of the Autobots, as always, was right: Silverbolt never made him regret his decision [1] . He is very responsible for his duties as a commander, enjoys authority among his subordinates, and at critical moments he is able to overcome his fear of heights . For example, in order to destroy the key to the Sigma Computer , whose energy is fatal for all living things on Earth , it is transformed into a robot right in the air and, falling, shoots the key; meanwhile, if Slingshot hadn't caught him in time, it could really have ended badly for Silverbolt.
Unicron Trilogy
In the original Japanese version of the first part of the trilogy - the series Micron Densetsu - the name "Silverbolt" is one of the Autobots. In the American version, his name is Blair .
Beast Wars
In this animated series, which takes place three centuries after the events described in The Transformers , Silverbolt belongs to the faction of maxima - distant descendants of the Autobots. Like all maxima, he, being on Earth, took the alt-form of the animal . But while in the Earth ’s orbit , the suspended animation capsule , in which the Silverbolt protoform was located, was exposed to powerful quantum radiation ; it caused a malfunction in the formatting process and led to the fact that the born transformer became a fusor - a chimera that combines the features of a wolf and an eagle . Silverbolt - noble nature (according to some, even too noble); his behavior and manner of expression are as if borrowed from ancient chivalric novels . As befits a knight , he accomplishes feats in the name of the Beautiful Lady. However, this does not prevent him from being very cunning and resourceful [2] .
Other maxima (in particular, Rattrap ) make fun of his pompous speeches, but they are quite friendly to him, and even reconcile with the fact that Silverbolt is the "lady of the heart" of the premonitor Black Widow . Silverbolt is stubbornly trying to “re-educate” her, and although there is little hope that these attempts will succeed, he firmly believes that there will come a time when his lover will join the maxima (which in the end happened).
Felobots
After returning from Earth to Cybertron, Silverbolt was captured by Megatron , and his spark was transplanted into the body of Jetstorm - one of the vexicon generals. Now it was the turn of the Black Widow to fight for the return of her lover to the camp of maxima, and in the end she succeeded.
As a vexicon, Silverbolt / Jetstorm transformed into a jet ; Having returned to the maxima, he acquired the alt-form of a condor .
Movie
Silverbolt was supposed to appear in the film by M. Bay “ Transformers 3 ”, which premiered on July 1, 2011, but he did not enter the final composition of the participants.
Video Games
Silverbolt is the game character in Transformers: War for Cybertron . Together with Airrade and Jetfire, he attacked the Decepticon station, which turned out to be a huge transformer Trypticon . Also appeared in Transformers: Fall of Cybertron .
Features
It has one of the highest rates in speed among autobots - in airplane mode it can develop a speed that is 1.9 times faster than the speed of sound . It can fly distances of up to 4500 miles without refueling. An electrostatic battery is installed on the fuselage of the aircraft, which is able to pick up electrons from air molecules and condense them. It is also capable of throwing an electronic charge through the nose cone in the form of a discharge of up to 150,000 volts . His weapon is especially effective during a thunderstorm , when, thanks to the huge number of charged particles in the air, it reaches its maximum power. In robot mode, it is armed with an electrostatic rifle, which is also present in airplane mode.
According to official figures, his fighting qualities are evaluated as follows: speed - 9, intelligence, courage, stamina and firepower - 8, strength - 6, skill - 5.
Weaknesses
Transformers G1
Although it is an airplane, flying is by no means its element. He feels good in the air only when he fights or leads his team into battle - then he just has no time to "freak out".
Beast Wars
If his friends are in danger (especially if the Black Widow is in danger), Silverbolt immediately "goes ahead" ... without hesitation and without developing a strategy (and even if it is a trap). As a result: he finds himself in a situation to cope with which he alone can not afford. In addition, Silverbolt is inclined to find beauty in any object or phenomenon, so it is difficult for him to carry out such a mission, where something is necessary, or someone to destroy.
