Socionic type (type of "informational metabolism", TIM, sociotype) is one of the basic concepts of socionics . According to socionic theory, there are sixteen of these types [1] and any person can be attributed to one of them. Socionics, developing Jung’s typology , distinguishes these types as the result of various combinations of “mental functions” [2] .
Type Designations
Various authors have proposed several type designations. All systems can be conditionally divided into three groups:
- Formula notation based on the totality of model features: Young's basis, Reinin traits, belonging to small Reinin groups, structure of model A.
- Characteristic designations are pseudonyms indicating pronounced features of sociotypes and / or preferred professional affiliation.
- Character and historical names are pseudonyms named after famous historical figures or literary characters - usually carriers of the corresponding types.
There are several subgroups:
- designations based on dichotomies;
- designations based on model A;
- designations based on belonging to small TIM groups.
Some systems (for example, A. Augustinavichute's system) cannot be unambiguously attributed to one of them; it is a combination of a dichotomous and model designation.

Type Definition Methods
The lack of objective criteria for determining the socionic type, according to the philosopher L. M. Monastyrsky, is the main problem of socionics [3] . At the same time, in practice in the diagnosis of socionic type the MBTI test can be used due to the affinity of the post-Jung typologies of MBTI and socionics [4] . For the MBTI technique, this stability is quite high and amounts to 70–80% and higher [5] [6] , however, not all socionics agree that the types determined by this test can be equated with socionic ones [7] . Moreover, socionics also use the method of interviewing and monitoring human behavior [8] . The psychologist T. N. Petrova, on the basis of the studies, believes that with the integrated use of a number of techniques - both introspective (questionnaires) and projective - it is possible to determine with a high degree of certainty the type of informational metabolism (TIM) of a person [9] [10] , however no single proven method that allows one to determine the socionic type with high reliability, and accepted by most socionic schools, has not been developed among socionics [11] .
