Biography
Lang Yang was born in 1871 in Lu Village, Hebei Province, China. She had her only son, Pavel Lan Fu . In 1899 - 1900 the Ihehtuan rebellion broke out in China, during which the rebels brutally persecuted Christians. On July 16, 1900, rebels entered the village and captured Lan Yang. Having tied her to a tree, they demanded that she renounce Christianity. Her seven-year-old son Pavel Lan Fu, returning home, saw his mother and began to cry. After some time, the boxers set fire to the Lan Yang house, pierced her body with a spear, cut off the hands of the boy, and after both, seriously wounded, threw him into the fire.
Praise
Lan Yang and her son Paul Lan Fu were beatified on April 17, 1955 by Pope Pius XII and canonized on October 1, 2000 by Pope John Paul II, together with a group of 120 Chinese martyrs .
