Content
History
The Institute began its history from the second half of the 1960s, when the Department of Laser Physics was created, led by V.P. Chebotaev. This Department was first part of the Institute of Semiconductor Physics, and since 1978 it was transferred to the Institute of Thermophysics.
The Institute of Laser Physics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences was created in 1991 on the basis of the Department of Laser Physics of the Institute of Thermophysics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences. The first director was Academician Veniamin Pavlovich Chebotaev . The Institute also included the Plasma Physics and Space Research Department of the Institute of Applied and Theoretical Mechanics of the Siberian Branch of the USSR Academy of Sciences,
