Description
He has a tendency to stumble on everything, which at a speed of 60 miles (that is, more than 90 kilometers ) per hour carries a considerable risk to health. The reason for this is not recklessness: just Skides is a little dreamer. His electronic mind more often analyzes data on earthly life forms than the last (and even more so the future) attack of the Decepticons . But usually, he is able to wake up from a drift just in time, as the desperate screech of brakes testifies in car mode.
On his native Cybertron, Skides was an anthropologist and researcher and considers his new home, Earth , a huge laboratory with unlimited possibilities. So it would be in reality, if not for the war. Very often, his discoveries are of no value to the Autobots. “Sometimes I think ,” Gears says, “ Does he know with whom we are fighting . ” Skides often asks himself the same question ...
Biography
Unicron Trilogy
In the original Japanese version of the final part of the trilogy - the animated series " Galaxy Force " - the name "Skids" is a young Autobot who was born on the planet Velocitron. The American version of this character is called Clocker .
Movies
Appears as an actor in the movie Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen . According to reports, Skids and his twin brother Madflap appeared as a result of a rare event - the splitting of the Spark . This explains their amazing mental contact, allowing them to unusually accurately coordinate their actions during the battle. Thanks to this, they are able to do real acrobatic numbers, attacking even more powerful opponents and successfully avoiding the blows. (This probably also explains the fact that they are the only Autobots appearing in the film who can integrate into gestalt , even if only for the purpose of disguise ).
Initially, they performed the duties of messengers, but over time, Optimus Prime , appreciating their speed and dexterity, included them in his squad as fighters. And he never had to regret it. They took part in the pursuit of Sideways , after the death of Prime, together with Bumblebee, Sam, Michaela, Leo and Simmons, they found the Prime Tomb in Egypt, and also fought with Devastator .
In the movie Transformers 3: The Dark Side of the Moon , Skids and his brother Madflap appear only in transport form.
Skides, like his brother, should initially have appeared completely in The Dark Side of the Moon, but their performances were cut out of the finished film, with the exception of the above points described above. If Skids and Madflap appeared in the film completely, then they would have been killed by Sentinel Prime after he killed Ironheid as well as the Transformers: Dark of the Moon Adaptation comic. This also explains why the twins were not present in the film at the Battle of Chicago, since the Adaptations were exactly the same because of their death.
Comics Biography
Transformers 3: Dark of the Moon Movie Adaptation
Skids, Madflap, Bumblebee and the NEST squad awaited Sentinel Prime's arrival at the base. Sentinel turned out to be a traitor and kills Ironheid, and then points his blaster at Bumblebee. Skids saves the Autobot from death by covering it with a body. Angry Madflap tries to avenge his brother, but also dies from Sentinel's shot.
Specifications
Skids is one of the smallest transformers: its height is 2.4 meters , weight is 1.2 tons .
In peacetime, Skides is best suited for academic studies. The capacity of his memory is simply huge. Visual information is absorbed almost instantly - the facts are known when he looked through the university library in just two hours. Subsequently, in wartime conditions, this phenomenal speed was very useful to him. In battle, he thinks and acts incredibly fast, so capturing it, or at least discovering it, is an extremely difficult task. His blue eyes are visible far away (most likely better than all Autobots), and only his brother can compete in his vision.
According to the G1 version, in Robot mode , Skides is armed with a rifle that shoots a stream of liquid nitrogen at a distance of 183 meters, and an electronic blaster that can cause a short circuit in the circuits of almost any mechanical enemy using discharges up to 20 thousand volts .
In the film, his weapon is a gas gun with super-fast reload. In addition, it has a special device with which it can throw shells in the form of disks at enemies; some of them emit a wild squeal in flight and are used for a psychic attack , while others, when hit by a target, generate a powerful electric discharge that temporarily paralyzes the enemy. In extreme cases, he can do without weapons at all - his fingers are covered with strong cobalt armor , which makes his cuffs very sensitive. [2] .
In car mode, thanks to the technical genius Wiljack, Skides has the most effective brakes among Autobots : his braking distance at a speed of 80.4 km / h is only 7.6 meters.
According to the official scale, his qualities are evaluated as follows: courage - 8, speed - 7, firepower - 5, strength and endurance - 4, skill - 3. Rank among the Autobots - 2 [3] .
Weaknesses
Because of his daydreaming, Skides often gets into dangerous situations. It is easy to trap him and make him lose vigilance, arousing the curiosity of the scientist in him. He can also be easily quarreled with his brother.
Character
Skids is a minute older than his brother, and therefore considers himself much smarter, and most importantly - more mature and serious. But only he thinks so. From the point of view of others, both Gemini are equally hectic and "reckless." Skids, like Madflap, has a very vague idea of discipline and sees his main task in convincing everyone and everyone (and first of all, his own brother) that he is the “coolest” of the two of them. They argue almost continuously, quarrel, and even fight for any reason (and for no reason). This is also due to the fact that no one raised Skid and Madflap, so they behave like avid hooligans. They do not cause much harm to anyone (except themselves), but they do not allow others to live in peace. Although Skides is not serious, he will not allow harm to his friends, and especially to his brother.
