According to the scriptwriter and director of the series, Leslie Stevens, he wanted the picture to be “psychedelic” with various effects when shooting. However, the result was somewhat alarmed by the American Broadcasting Company television network, and it kept broadcasting the episode until the middle of the season [1] .
Story
| The human mind has always sought to find out what extends beyond the world in which we live. Researchers of the unknown risked in the depths and in the air. Of these researchers, some are scientists and some are mystics. Each pursues its own goal. But one common goal that they strive to achieve is the desire to cross the Border Band, and go beyond what is possible. |
Scientist Jan Fraser is confronted with a magnetic field that completely changes the shape of living matter. Fraser and another scientist are trying to adjust their equipment, capable of creating this field. Fraser accidentally put his hand in the equipment compartment, and the others did not have time to cry out as he pulled his hand out of there. Fraser cries out, "Lord Almighty!" Looks at his hand.
British millionaire Dwight Hartley hired a notable psychic, Mrs. Palmer, to make contact with her dead son, Glenn. But this quack is accused of fraud by scientists Ian Fraser, Peter Mark Richman, Lincoln Russell and Eva Fraser, Ian’s wife. Lincoln Russell gets up and suddenly turns on the light before contact with another world is established. Fraser discovers that all the illumination effects that hit the millionaire Palmer are hidden in the crevices in her table. Saving her reputation, the psychic states that, nevertheless, she contacted his son and describes all the details of this communication and the appearance of Glenn. Lincoln Russell, partner of Ian Fraser, tells her that the paintings depicting Mr. Hartley's son are hanging in the next room for all to see and it is not difficult to describe them. Ms. Palmer insists that she has never seen these paintings. Edgar Price, a colleague of Palmer, protests against interference in the cause of scientists and claims that she has explored the other world for many years, and she is able to move outside the normal world at high speed. Physicists are leaving.
Dwight Hartley understands that the "magicians" can not help contact with his son, that psychics are only interested in money and nothing more. The millionaire decides to sponsor the research of Fraser and his colleagues. Fraser insists that he has developed a method that can penetrate “into the frontier strip” - this is a kind of spatial “plane” between this world and another, which may be just the afterlife. But he needs all the energy of the capital's electricity network to establish a connection with another world. A wealthy and powerful person agrees to fulfill this condition if Fraser tries to contact the dead son of a millionaire. Fraser agrees and the experiment begins. At a crucial moment, psychic Palmer and her partner reappear on the scene, planning, in turn, to expose scientists as fraudsters.
Scientist Jan Fraser sends inanimate objects, as well as flowers and white rats, to another dimension. Meanwhile, fake psychics come up with a plan on how to ruin his experiment. While Dr. Ian Fraser is in the fourth dimension, one of the psychics turns off the power. The scientist’s wife pulls Jan from another dimension. Desperate to get in touch with his dead son, millionaire Hartley enters a cell of communication with another world and disappears.
| There are worlds outside the spaces within which the traveler must wander, but there is one force that seems to be above space and time, life and death. It is a very human force that gives us security and unites together when all other forces come together to separate us - and we call it the power of love. |
