Career
Club
At the junior level, Abelardo played for several local teams, after which he moved to the Sporting Hihon Academy. In 1989, he signed a professional contract with this club. For "Sporting" Abelardo played for 5 seasons, in which he played 178 matches.
In one of the grandees of Spanish football - " Barcelona " - Abelardo passed already established player with experience playing at major international tournaments. For 7 years spent in Barcelona, he twice won the championship , the Cup and the Super Cup of Spain , and also became the winner of two European competitions - the Cup Winners' Cup and the UEFA Super Cup .
