History
The Portuguese race entered the calendar of the series in 2007, adding to the summer European segment of the calendar. In the next seven years, the competition was held annually, in order to reduce costs and visit stability, rotating their venue: in 2007, 2009, 2011 and 2013, pilots arrived in Porto , on the Boavista city highway, in 2008 - at the Estoril stationary circuit , in 2010 and 2012 - to the track in Portimao , and in 2015 - to the Vila Real city highway.
The timing of the race coincided with two periods of long domination of various brands in the World Cup, which was reflected in the list of winners of its races: seven victories in these races were won by representatives of the Chevrolet brand, and five more by SEAT . Among the pilots, this list is more diverse: only Alain Menu and Tiago Monteiro won more than two races, while not one of the weekend of the competition did not end with a double victory of the same pilot.
