Miles Kennedy ( born Myles Kennedy ; birth name is Miles Richard Bass ; November 27, 1969) is an American musician who played in bands Citizen Swing , The Mayfield Four . Best known as the vocalist and guitarist of Alter Bridge , as well as the vocalist and rhythm guitarist of the solo project of Guns N 'Roses guitarist Slash , with whom they recorded Apocalyptic Love and World on Fire . In 2008, Kennedy participated in a project of former members of Led Zeppelin , but the project did not see the light of day [1] .

Biography
Kennedy was born November 27, 1969 in Boston, Massachusetts. As a child, he moved to Spokane , Washington, where he grew up on a farm in a Christian family. Father Richard Bass died when Miles was 4 years old. His mother married a second time and changed her surname to Kennedy. He was brought up as a Christian, but later became an agnostic.
He began his career in 1990 as a guitarist in the Cosmic Dust instrumental jazz ensemble, with whom he recorded one studio album. With his next band Citizen Swing, he recorded two albums, after which in 1995 the band broke up.
In 1996, Miles Kennedy founded the group The Mayfield Four, with which he recorded two albums, Fallout (1998) and Second Skin (2001). The group ceased to exist in 2002.
In 2001, he played the role of Mike (one of the minor characters) in the movie Rock Star .
In 2003, he married Selena Frank, a teacher in an orphanage.
In 2004, the band Creed broke up. Three of its members (guitarist Mark Tremonti, bassist Brian Marshall and drummer Scott Phillips) decided to continue their creative activity together, changing their name to Alter Bridge . Highly appreciating the vocal abilities of Miles Kennedy, they invited him to take the vocalist position, to which he replied with agreement. As of September 2013, the group has released 4 full-length albums without any changes in composition.
