History
It was created in 1941 by combining the funds of the disbanded regional archive of the October Revolution and the regional historical archive. During the Great Patriotic War, archival documents were evacuated to the city of Chelkar , however, some of the funds were lost. After the war, problems began with premises for storing documents, and only in 1953 did the SACC obtain acceptable areas for working premises. In 1976, the archive moved to a new, specially equipped building.
Archive Fund
The documents stored in the archive form two large groups - the first group consists of documents of the pre-revolutionary period, the second - documents of the Soviet era.
The basis of the pre-revolutionary funds is an array of documents of the Black Sea Military Archive brought to the Kuban by the Cossacks of the Zaporizhzhya Sich in 1792 . This array of documents was gradually replenished with both military and civil affairs and in 1919 totaled almost one and a half million cases.
The documents of the first years of Soviet power (1917-1920) were partially preserved [1] .
