Belebeevsky County

Belebeyevsky Uyezd ( Bashkir. Bәlәbәy өyәҙe ) is an administrative-territorial unit of the Orenburg and Ufa provinces of the Russian Empire and the RSFSR , which existed in 1782 - 1922 . The county town is Belebey .

Content

Geography

The county was located in the southwestern part of the Ufa province , its area was 22.162 thousand square kilometers.

In the west it bordered with Bugulminsky and Buguruslan counties , in the northwest with Menzelinsky district , in the north-east with Birsky district , in the east with Sterlitamak and Ufa counties .

History

The county was formed in 1782 as part of the Ufa region of Ufa governorate . After the reform of governorship in the Orenburg province, the Belebeyevsky district from 1796 to 1865 was part of the Orenburg province . In 1865, Belebeyevsky Uyezd became part of the newly formed Ufa province .

On June 14, 1922, the Ufa province was abolished, the territory of the Belebeyevsky district became part of the Belebeyevsky canton of the Bashkir Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic .

According to the 1897 census, the county population was 433,179 [1] people, including 5,835 in the city of Belebey .
