Oilcake ( cuckoo, kolob, foolish, pothole, zhmak ) - a product obtained after squeezing vegetable oil on presses of various designs from trained oilseeds ( sunflower , rapeseed , camelina , flax , etc.). Concentrated feed for farm animals with a high protein content (15-40%); one of the components of animal feed .
Hemp cake is a valuable food for horses, pigs and cattle (daily norm up to 2.5 kg), the best food for fish (recently sunflower cake has been commonly used for this purpose). The chemical composition of sunflower meal: water 11%, protein 41%, fat 7%, fiber 5.5%, nitrogen-free extractives (mainly starch and sugar) 26%, ash 6.5%. In hemp, much more fiber, in corn - carbohydrates to the detriment of proteins.
