Sacco and Vanzetti Street (until the 1930s - Usoltsevskaya Street ) is located in the Center of Yekaterinburg , passes through the Verkh-Isetsky and Leninsky districts of the city. The length of the street from north to south is 1980 m. The modern name was given to the street in memory of American port workers, leaders of the labor movement Sacco and Vanzetti . Until the reconstruction of the northwestern part of the Central residential area of the city, it was located between Oktyabrskaya Revolyutsiya Street and Narodnaya Volya Street, later the northern end of the street began to run into a continuous residential development outside Anton Valek Street [1] .

History and Attractions
Usoltsevskaya street owes its appearance to the mastermaster I. I. Susorov, who in 1752 marked out new city streets on the sides of the Moscow road. The construction of the street began in the 1780s , but most of its design took place in the first half of the 19th century and later [1] .
In pre-revolutionary Yekaterinburg on Usolskaya Street, there were mainly residential buildings and small workshops, such as the binding A.R. Veltsa and the Eliseev’s laundry. Separate estates and mansions of Sacco and Vanzetti streets are known as architectural monuments: the house of the forester L.S. Lebedev, the houses of the Agafurov merchants (architect Yu.O. Dyutel, V.V. Konovalov), the house of T.V. Remezov, the estate A. R Maltseva with an artistic metal fence (architects E. M. Kosyakov, V. K. Tonkov), the Ermolaev’s house, in which P. K. Sobolevsky, a professor of the Mining Institute, the founder of geophysical methods of subsurface exploration, the Eliseev’s estate lived in 1922-1933. , house of A. T. Alekseeva [1] .
In one of the Agafurovs' houses (24) a representative office of Tatarstan is located, in the other - the Museum of Merchant Life. On the corner of the street and Lenin Avenue ) there is a building that occupied the Alekseevskoye real school (the artist L.V. Turzhansky, the writer A. N. Tikhonov, the film director S. A. Gerasimov , and other famous Yekaterinburg students studied in it [1] . Now This building houses the Sverdlovsk Male Choral College.
Rename
In November 2014, one of the public organizations came up with a proposal to rename the street. Activists motivated their initiative by the fact that Nicola Sacco and Bartolomeo Vanzetti, anarchist revolutionaries from Italy, convicted of robbing a shoe factory and killing a cashier and two security guards in Massachusetts (USA), have nothing to do with Yekaterinburg or Russia. And the street is named after the propaganda campaign of the 1930s. The message was distributed as advertisements [2] . The initiative has not received further development.
