Biography

Manolo was born in the small town of San Carlos del Valle in the province of Ciudad Real in southern Spain. As a child, he did not play football for long in the school of a local football team, but did not receive further continuation of professional sports. When Manolo was 5 years old, his family moved to Huesca (in Aragon ). There, Manolo first began to go to football, becoming a fan of “ Zaragoza ” (Zaragoza - the center of the autonomous community of Aragon).

Once, Manolo came up with an interesting idea - to take a drum with her to the stadium. Soon the idea grew into a passion: at every Zaragoza home game, Manolo appeared with a drum, actively beating off the rhythm. It was then that he received the nickname "Manolo-drummer."

Manolo in Valencia

Over time, the club sympathies of Manolo changed: now he is a fan of Valencia - a team from the city where Manolo moved in 1982. Gradually, Manolo became a Valencia celebrity and one of the symbols of the eponymous football club. For 25 years, he did not miss a single home game of "bats", but in 2006, after a quarrel with the leadership of the club, "el del Bombo" stopped visiting "Mestal" .

In Valencia, Manolo has its own bar, which is not far from Mestalla. In the interior of the institution used a lot of football paraphernalia, on the walls hung pictures of Manolo with the football team of Spain and even King Juan Carlos I.

Manolo and the Spanish national team

Over the past 30 years, Manolo almost never missed the games of the Spanish national team, not excluding friendly matches. The only reason that could prevent him from attending the match of the “red fury” is health problems, as it happened, for example, with the game Spain - Paraguay at the 2010 World Cup [1] .

With his team, Manolo visited ten world championships ; according to the Spaniard himself, he would like to visit 12 world championships .

After the world football championships in Russia, Manolo said that he would no longer go to matches of the Spanish national team to other countries, as he was not allowed to go to the stadiums in Kazan and Kaliningrad. [2] .
