Angolar (as well as Ngola ( Lungua N'golá ) is a minority language in Sao Tome and Principe , spoken in the southern part of Sao Tome and rarely along the coast. It is a Creole language based on Portuguese, with a strong influence of the southern mbundu , the Bantu language of continental Angola , from where black slaves were brought to the island.Angolans who speak Portuguese and Mbunda, when visiting Sao Tome and Principe, are surprised that their language is almost identical to this language.
