In 1949, by chance, a theater director saw her in a club and took her to the musical β Dismissal to the City β. This was her first role, which impressed most people. This role was a ticket to the big movie. In parallel, she acted in films and played at the Broadway Theater , where she met her future husband, director Paul Davis.
In 1964, she joined the cast of the popular television series My Wife Charmed Me . She was approved for the role of Gladys Kravitz , a curious neighbor who constantly becomes a witness to witchcraft. Her heroine constantly accused her neighbor Samantha Stevens of witchcraft, but she was mistaken for a madwoman. Pierce died of ovarian cancer , not finishing the last five episodes of the second season. She was awarded posthumously an Emmy for her best supporting actress in the comedy series My Wife Charmed Me. Her body was cremated, and the ashes scattered over the sea.
