The variety belongs to the Southern Yangtze variety group (Kultivargruppe: Southern-Yangtse). Occurs from the southern regions of China , which are characterized by a humid and warm winter [4] .
Some botanists believe that Paeonia suffruticosa is not a species, but an extensive group of different varieties [5] .
Recently, some authors attribute this variety not to Paeonia suffruticosa , but to Paeonia ostii [6] [3] .
Also suggest a hybrid origin of this variety [7] .
'Feng Dan Bai' is one of the most common varieties of tree peonies [1] .

Biological description
Perennial deciduous shrub .
The bush is tall, slim, height is 90-180 cm [6] .
Flowers are up to 18 cm in diameter, white, sometimes with pink veins, solitary, well open, thick, pleasant aroma .
