History
In 1959 - 1981 , a stadium was built for the local Metallurg, which would serve as the main, central stadium in Lipetsk (there are also stadiums on Tractor and Sokol in Lipetsk). In 1998, 2005 and 2018, the stadium was renovated. According to the old RPL rules, FC Tambov could play matches of the RPL, but after changing the rules he will play the first matches at the Mordovia Arena stadium.
In 2008, the stadium had a concert by Scorpions .
The opening of the Metallurg stadium took place on the first day of the City Day holiday on July 13, 2018. The first (Friendly) match played there after the reconstruction - Metallurg vs USSR Veterans .
Attendance and Capacity
According to official figures, the capacity of the stadium is 14,940 seats (after reconstruction 11,000, of which 2,340 under a canopy) [1] . According to the Championship.com website, the average attendance is 3357 people per match. [2] .
