Symbolization Justification

The flag was drawn up on the basis of the coat of arms of the Taldomsky municipal district according to the rules and corresponding traditions of vexillology and reflects historical, cultural, socio-economic, national and other local traditions.

The crane in a green field shows the reserve Crane Homeland, located in the vicinity of the city. This is the only place in the European part of Russia where thousands of gray cranes stop to rest on spring and autumn flights. Sapozhok speaks about the main occupation of citizens in the past and the shoe industry now: Taldom is a city of shoemakers.

The green field symbolically reflects the rich forest lands of the Taldom district, characterizing the region as one of the most beautiful in the Moscow region.

Green color in heraldry also symbolizes rebirth, life, abundance.

Yellow color ( gold ) in heraldry means wealth, respect, magnanimity.

Red color symbolizes work, life-affirming force, courage, celebration, beauty.
