Paul Mifsud ( born Paul Mifsud , born February 6, 1947 [1] ) is the first Maltese professional snooker player . Recently represents his country at various amateur competitions.

Career
Mifsud began to play on the main tour after the 10th victory in the championship of Malta in 1982 and the finals of the amateur world championship in 1976 [2] , but did not achieve significant success in professional tournaments - only in the 1984 world championship did he reach 1 / 16 finals, but lost to Terry Griffiths with a score of 2:10 [3] . After a short time, Mifsud left the tour and began to play again at international and national amateur tournaments, and since then has won many different competitions. In 1985-1986 he was the world champion among amateurs [2] , and in 1988 - the finalist of the European Championship [4] .
