Syrlytam is a mausoleum located in the Karmakshy district of the Kyzylorda region , 16 km northeast of the village of Tagay, an architectural monument of Kazakhstan of the 7th - 8th centuries . The architect of the mausoleum is unknown.
In 1982, the Syrlytam mausoleum was included in the list of historical and cultural monuments of the Kazakh SSR of republican significance and taken under state protection [1] .
Architecture
Syrlytam is a single-chamber, portal-domed structure built from burnt brick [2] . The plan has dimensions 10 × 11 m, the preserved building height is 9 m [2] . The transition from the quadrangle to the octagon is carried out using corner arches [2] . Then, using diagonally protruding brick-consoles in the corners of the octagon, the transition was made immediately to the circle of the dome [2] . The double dome, with a sixteen-sided drum, was not preserved [2] .
The mausoleum has two entrances - from the south from the north side. The main entrance (on the south side) was decorated with a lancet arch portal [2] . The pestac of the main facade is decorated with a U-shaped belt of majolica tiles [2] . The windows of the drum, laid out by the method of false arch, have a lancet shape [2] .
