Biography

The scout of the 496th separate reconnaissance company, Junior Sergeant Nikifor Markov, on the night of September 26, 1943 in the area of the village of Soshinovka in the Verkhnedneprovsky district of the Dnipropetrovsk region of Ukraine as part of an intelligence group crossed the Dnieper River . In the battle for the bridgehead, the reconnaissance soldier destroyed eight enemy soldiers, one officer, and captured a light machine gun.
In the same 1943, in one of the battles, N. N. Markov was seriously wounded. After which he had to be treated for a long time. After being discharged from the hospital in 1944, the brave scout was demobilized.
He lived and worked in the capital of Tatarstan - the city of Kazan, and since 1952 - in the city of Naro-Fominsk, Moscow Region. Before leaving for a well-deserved rest, he worked at a silk factory.
He died on August 11, 1997.
