Career
Club
Tello began his career in 1999 at Universidad de Chile . He immediately made a good impression on the specialists and in 2000 he was named the best midfielder in the country. In 2001, he was already in Europe, moving for 7 million euros to the Lisbon Sporting .
Not immediately, but Tello became an important player in the Lions. With the club, he won both the championship and the Portuguese Cup . Rodrigo spent 6 seasons in Sporting, playing 137 matches and scoring 6 goals.
In 2007, Tello moved to the Turkish Besiktas . Already in the second season Rodrigo became the champion of Turkey - Besiktas made a “golden double”. In 2010, Tello scored the only goal in the match between Besiktas and Manchester United at Old Trafford in the Champions League match. This defeat was Manchester's first home defeat in the Champions League in 8 years.
July 20, 2010 signed a 3-year contract with the Turkish Eskisehirspor [2] .
International
Tello made his debut in the national team of Chile on March 22, 2000 in a match with the team of Honduras .
Rodrigo is a bronze medalist at the Sydney Olympic Games . He also participated in the America's Cup 2007 , where the Chilean national team reached the quarter finals.
In 2010, Marcelo Bielsa included the player in an application for the World Cup , where Tello had one match.
