Biography
In 1929 - 1935 he worked as a literary employee of the Kokchetav , Karaganda regional newspapers, the newspaper "Kazakh Udebietі" [3] . In 1935-1937 he studied at the directing department of GITIS [4] .
In 1938 - 1940 he worked as the head of the literary part of the Kazakh Academic Drama Theater, in 1940 - 1950 - the art director of the Semipalatinsk, Ural Regional Drama Theaters, editor of the Central Joint Film Studio (CSC) in Alma-Ata , senior researcher in the Film Section of the Academy of Sciences of the Kazakh SSR [ 3] .
He was awarded the Order of the Badge of Honor and medals of the USSR [3] .
Creativity
The first work of Shakhmet Khusainov was on the collectivization of the play “Offensive” ( Kaz. “Shabuyl” ), created in 1932 [4] . Then came the plays: "The Insatiable" (1932) - about the bribe takers , "Harvest" (1935, Kazakh. "Oraқ" ) - about the life of the collective farm , "Sholpan" (1938) - about the establishment and consolidation of Soviet power in the village, "Yesterday and today ”(1940, kaz. “ Keshemen bugin ” , a version of the play of the 1930s“ Maralbay ”) - about the formation of the character of a Soviet scientist [3] .
The plays Amangeldy (1936), Boran (1939), Our Gani (1957), Al-Farabi (1972, together with O. Bodykov) were written on historical topics [3] . In the comedy Aldar Kose (1942), based on Kazakh folklore, he created the image of a popular wit, a fighter against injustice [3] .
In the comedy about collective farm life, "Spring Wind" (1952, kaz. "Koktem Zhelі" ), fraud and arrogance are ridiculed [4] . In the center of the play “Minion” (1954, Kaz. “Esіrtken Erke” ) - the problems of the education of adolescents [4] . The play "On the Bank of the Irtysh" (1957, Kaz. "Ertis zhagasynda" ) is dedicated to the working class [4] .
Together with V. Abyzov, he wrote film scripts for the feature films “Djigit Girl ” (1955), “We Live Here” (1957), “ On the Wild Bank of the Irtysh ” (1959) [3] .
Memory
In 1978, a street in Alma-Ata was named after Shakhmet Khusainov on the house (62 Karasay Batyr Street), where the writer lived and a memorial plaque was installed [4] .
in July 12, in 1996, the Kazakh Music and Drama Theater of the city of Kokshetau was named after Shakhmet Khusainov.
