The first indicative information about the village of Kozlovka dates back to the end of the 17th century, probably 1696, when the landowner of the village of Androsovo in the modern Gaginsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, possibly Brekhov Mikhail Stepanovich transferred the families of the serfs Shulaevs and Semenovs to a new settlement in Kurmyshsky uyezd. The village was called Kozlovka. Most presumably, this toponymic name was assigned to the village in connection with the sawmill from the word Kozly - a wooden machine for sawing wood, since soon the peasants of the village of Kozlovka by decree of Peter 1 were assigned to the admiralty for the purpose of sawing and transporting oak. The second likely name is associated with KozloVki. many lower carum carvi plant, caraway seeds, gunba. (See V.I. Dahl), which is the least likely. The patronym is also doubtful.
The village was part of the Kurmysh district of Simbirsk governorate, since 1796, as part of the Simbirsk province, according to the words of local historians on the will of Brekhov Kozlovka in 1847, it was transferred along with the fortresses to the Mariinsky Institute of Noble Maidens (it is unlikely since the institute was opened only in 1852) , since 1921, a village in the Sergach district of the Nizhny Novgorod region, at present the village is part of the Bortsurmansky village council of the Pilninsky district of the Nizhny Novgorod region .
In 1930, after the dispossession of Semenov D.N., Semenov N.F., Noskov V.I., the collective farm "Krasnaya Gorka No. 2" was organized under the chairmanship of Petr Dmitrievich Shulaev, a member of the CPSU since 1928.
