Oscar Yakovlevich Remez ( February 23, 1925 , Leningrad - February 15, 1989 ) - Russian theater director , writer , scientist and theater teacher , Honored Artist of the RSFSR (1971), professor (1980), doctor of art history (1982).

Biography
Oscar Remez was born in Leningrad [1] . In 1950 he graduated from the A.N. Ostrovsky Leningrad Theater Institute . In 1950-1958 he worked at the Theater. Lensoviet ; later worked in Moscow : in 1959-1961 - at the Theater. Moscow City Council , then, in 1961-1964, - at the Theater. Lenin Komsomol , in 1964-1971 - at the Theater. Pushkin , in 1972-1974 - at the Theater. Mayakovsky [1]
Since 1968 he taught at GITIS (since 1980 - professor ). Among his students are Peter Fomenko , Kama Ginkas , Irina Rozanova , Roman Madyanov , Svetlana Karpinskaya .
Since 1985, Oscar Remez worked at the All-Russian Research Institute of Art Studies. His theatrical works are devoted mainly to the problems of acting and directing.
Son - playwright Alexander Oskarovich Remez ( January 14, 1954 , Leningrad - January 8, 2001 , Moscow).
Daughter - journalist Sofya Oskarovna Remez (born February 4, 1983 , Moscow ).
Oscar Remez passed away on February 15, 1989 at the 64th year of his life. He was buried in Moscow at the Don cemetery [2] .
