" Oak Gaay " and " Bachelor Party "

Andrei “Dolphin” Lysikov was born on September 29, 1971, a native of the Moscow district of Ochakovo-Matveyevskoe ^[1] . At school, Andrew did not want to take in the pioneers ^[2] . In the late 1980s, he traveled to the USSR as a member of dance teams that promoted hip hop culture ^[1] . After graduation, Lysikov entered the radio engineering college, from which he left the 3rd year. He earned money in the theater and an illegal trader ^[3] . In parallel, he was engaged in break dance ^[3] .

In the winter of 1989, the “ Oak Gaay ” group was founded, founded by Dolphin and Hans Holman ^[1] . In the winter of 1991 Gaay gave a concert at the rap festival in Riga - the only one at which the band was spotted at that time.

In 1991, Andrew accidentally joined the hip-hop group " Malchishnik ", which was gathered by producer Alexey Adamov ^[1] . The band recorded their debut album “Let's Talk About Sex” in the studios on Kutuzovsky Prospekt, under the clank of caterpillars of tanks that entered Moscow during the August 1991 putsch ^[1] . Record has become a bestseller in the official and pirated release ^[1] . In his tracks “The Bachelor Party” deliberately shocked the public - he raised the topic of sex that was previously forbidden in the USSR ^[3] . Nevertheless, the Dolphin refuses the label “pioneer of Russian rap” ^[1] . “There are many other people who are seriously engaged in hip-hop. They were cut for the word and for the music. And we rather used it for commercial purposes ” ^[1] ,” he said in an interview with Esquire .

The Dolphin spends money earned on tour with “Bachelor Party” spends on studio recordings of “Oak Guy” ^[1] . Since 1992-1993, the albums "Suicidal Disco", " Blue Lyrics No. 2 " and " Stop Killing Dolphins " appear. The latest album was recorded in collaboration with Alien Pat. Holman ^[4] . This experience of working with musicians influenced all subsequent works of Dolphin ^[4] .

After showing the video of the “Bachelor Party” for the song “ Sex Without Break ” on the First Channel of the All-Union Television, a scandal broke out, as a result of which the issuing editor of the 50/50 program was dismissed. After that, the “Bachelor Party” started having problems with television, radio stations and the press. To take part in the TV show “Playground Muzoboz”, the team had to record the soundtrack of the song “Dancing”, which telesensing could endorse ^[3] .

In the fall of 1994, The Bachelor Party recorded a new album called “ Skittles ”. In it, the texts become even tougher; profanity is used. This strengthened the scandalous glory of the team.

Mishina Dolphins

The dolphin leaves the “Bachelor Party”, closes the project “Oak Gaay” and starts working on two projects of opposite stylistics at once. The first of them is “ Mishina Dolphins ”, together with guitar player Mikhail Voinov .

In it, the musician continued his creative work, which he started at the time in the group “Oak Gaay”. Within the project, one album was released - “ Toys ” and one concert took place.

Dolphin

The second project was named Dolphin. In June 1997, Dolphin completed the recording of the material and released a disc called “ Out of Focus ”. The video “Dealer” was filmed a video clip ^[5] about the everyday life of a drug dealer .

In the same year, Dolphin records a new album " Depth of Field ". The plate exit was postponed several times. It was published only in 1999. The MTV channel took the musician's clips into rotation, his popularity increased. This contributed to a successful concert activity.

In 2000, Dolphin released the live album “ I Will Live ” and the new studio album “ Fins ”. Then followed the album " Fabrics ". The next CD, “The Star, ” released in 2004, was one of the most commercially successful in the Dolphin career. On the radio stations, four songs were immediately spinning from this record: “Eyes”, “Romance”, “Silver” and “Spring”.

After a three-year break, the sixth plate " Youth " appeared. It was released on November 22, 2007 and contained 14 new songs recorded together with guitarist Pavel Dodonov .

“I have always been looking for musicians who could make the music that I would like to hear - nor do I own musical instruments myself. Hence the conflict appeared. Therefore, in the early records, instead of live musicians, I used samples of various groups, mostly foreign ones. And when Pavel [Dodonov] appeared, I realized that this is the person who can really bring something. Yes, at that time he did not play like this. Anyway, he played what I wanted to hear. Over time, he turned into a great musician, "- said Dolphin in an interview in 2012 ^[6]

The seventh album " Creature " ^[7] was released on November 25, 2011. For the first time, the recitative is completely absent on the plate ^[8] .

The eighth numbered album of the Dolphin entitled “ Andrey ” was released on December 9, 2014. According to Andrei Lysikov, with the release of this plate, the format in which the team will work is changing ^[9] .

In 2014, the first collection of Andrei Lysikov was released. The publication includes texts of existing songs and poems, which have not become songs. In support of the collection of various famous personalities read excerpts from it. Among them: Artemy Troitsky ^[10] , Irina Khakamada ^[11] , Mikhail Efremov ^[12] , Andrei Loshak ^[13] , Kirill Serebrennikov ^[14] and others. The book is illustrated by Spanish street-art artist Pablo Herrero ( Spanish: Pablo S. Herrero ).

November 12, 2015 reissue of the eighth album "Andrew" Delphine. The new incarnation of the disc is completely different in sound from the version of December 2014. In addition to remastering, the edition is distinguished by two absolutely new songs - “2030” and “Akhmatova”.

October 19, 2016 released a new album called " She ." The record is radically opposite to the previously presented material, Andrei Lysikov ^[15] reported. On February 6, 2017, it was announced that guitarist Pavel Dodonov ^{[16] [17]} , who had been a regular member of the band since the early 2000s ^[1], left the band. The album "She" was recorded without the participation of Paul ^[1] . Therefore, some critics called the sounding of the record quite ascetic ^[1] .

July 1, 2017 Dolphin was supposed to perform in Kiev at the festival Atlas Weekend, but could not get to the territory of Ukraine. The rest of the group on the territory of Ukraine missed, despite the fact that they visited the Crimea, along with the artist. “I lived half a day in duty-free. You cannot buy anything for rubles there, but you cannot cash a card. And the guys threw the hryvnia under my door. I was caught up with this, but I explained to the border guards that there was no money, but I really wanted to eat, and they understood me. They wanted me to get a better job, ” ^[1] said Andrei. The performance at the concert did take place - the audience sang to the acoustic accompaniment , the texts were broadcast on the background screen in karaoke mode ^[18] .

On March 23, 2018, the tenth anniversary Dolphin solo album “ 442 ” ^{[19] was released} , recorded with an updated lineup - drummer Vasily Yakovlev and guitarist Igor Babko ^[20] . “[This] is the most evil record of Andrei Lysikov in the last decade and the most politicized in his entire career. Albeit without naming specific names, the Dolphin here seems to be the first to openly comment on what is happening around, and speaks very harshly, “ ^[21] ” assesses the portal Meduza .

The album " 442 " is the author's assessment of the events taking place in the country and the world ^[2] . “ A new record is in no way involved in these processes, but rather a somewhat annoyed comment on what is happening, ” ^[2] , ”said Dolphin. The video for the main hit of the record - “520” ^[22] - was shot by photographer Valentin Bloch, the work became his directorial debut ^{[2] [23]} .

“All albums are written for change. Each recorded album is a completed stage. Then the songs live at concerts, growing up with you. Not all songs: some die quickly. <...> It is necessary to understand exactly what I want - mournful violins or dances. And then just surrender to these sensations and enjoy the music I hear, ” ^[1] says Dolphin.

Andrey Lysikov is married with two children: a daughter, Eva (1998) ^[3] and a son Miron (2006).
